The term "path" is pretty universal.  I think they gave it a slightly
different name because they needed to add some directories to it to
make it easier to find JNI code.

There was a bug in Java whereby it did not get the user country
correctly from the OS.  When people complained, they claimed it was a
feature, but explained no corresponding benefit.  I wonder if anything
has happened on that front. It is making CurrCon display the wrong
currencies.  Java thinks the USA has annexed Canada.
