Have a 64bit Vista system with a 32bit browser.
All previous versions of java were removed.
Have downloaded both 32 and 64 bit java (7u7) versions from the java site.
The download and subsequent installs did not produce any (visible) errors.
At java webpage, the verify test fails.
In the test box I get a little red hexagon with an exclamation mark in it
(in top left corner), along with the red text saying 'Error: Click for
details'
Clicking that pops up a new box:
Application error
ClassNotFoundException (larger red hexagon and exclamation to the right
side)
jreVerification.class
Then along bottom right are three buttons for 'Details' , 'Ignore' ,
'Reload'
-clicking reload just allows for the error to repeat
-clicking ignore drops the last mssg box and you get a continuous java
test circle, as well as the original error indication
-clicking details provides the following console output:
Java Plug-in 10.7.2.11
Using JRE version 1.7.0_07-b11 Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM
User home directory = C:\Users\User
----------------------------------------------------
c: clear console window
f: finalize objects on finalization queue
g: garbage collect
h: display this help message
l: dump classloader list
m: print memory usage
o: trigger logging
q: hide console
r: reload policy configuration
s: dump system and deployment properties
t: dump thread list
v: dump thread stack
x: clear classloader cache
0-5: set trace level to <n>
----------------------------------------------------
I have done the complete removal of java including a reboot of the PC before
re-installing, many times (more than 20).
I even reloaded the Mozilla Firefox browser twice.
Java will not pass the verification test.
This seems to have started when the Java 7u7 and Firefox 15.0.1 came out.
I have done a file removal of the nodeployJava1.dll (in both the 32 and 64
bit) directories as suggested by one of the troubleshooting sites I came
across.
I am not a java developer (must be obvious by the above) - but I do require
the java be able to read/react properly, for some sites I visit.
Is there something Java forgot to include in their latest download for the
jre? Or is it really falling back on Mozilla's browser?
Thanks for any help you can give.
