Now come on. There are 132 MB of docs bundled with Java not to
mention the stuff out on the web. This is not like refusing to read
the JavaDoc for a specific method.

"name change" is not the first thing that would come to mind to search
on to resolve this puzzle.

Now come on. Are you serioiusly suggesting that they should not read the
referenced link? I told them which of the 132 MB of docs to read, because it
helps with the specific question. It is because "name change" is not the
first thing that would come to mind that I provided the link. How the bloody
hell do you take exception to that? Was not the link useful? Did it not
answer the question?

Chill the heck out.

My guess is that the "Now come on" is referring to the RTFM, not the
link itself. Although, that is just supposition on my part, so I could
be wrong.

My guess is that I misconstrue. I don't see the problem with reading the
manual. I do it all the time. I reread Javadocs I've read before. There's
no harm in it. I RTFM a lot.

My guess is that the problem is the F not the R, the T or the M.

Whilst many of us can cope with a bit of blunt Anglo-Saxon, and a few
have persuaded themselves that F stands for friendly, obviously there
are some (probably many) who feel the F conveys an excessively hostile
or aggressive tone.

Just my -n0.02 worth.

How long has "RTFM" been in the lexicon of Usenet? Surely by now the "F" is
silent.

Gee, whillikers, people, lighten up. Gosh.

Yes. Lew implied it was merely a matter of reading some obvious place
in a manual, that OP was out of line to ask for a link.

I think he was being too hard on OP. That was not an obvious link. I
am impressed the Lew found it.

You took it that way. I disclaim the implication.

I think you are reading too much into it. Chill out.
