I have two consumer-grade routers. The Netgear responds to telnet, the Trendnet doesn't seem to. To: comp.lang.java.gui CK wrote: > Note that he specifically asked for CISCO. Actually, they specifically asked for Cisco, but misspelled it "cisco" in their message. (Also they misspelled "Java", "VBScript", "I" and "DHCP".) Proper nouns really should be properly spelled. In any event, the answer to the OP's question is that there is no special telnet application for Cisco, or any other, routers. -- Lew --- * Synchronet * The Whitehouse BBS --- whitehouse.hulds.com --- check it out free usenet! --- Synchronet 3.15a-Win32 NewsLink 1.92 Time Warp of the Future BBS - telnet://time.synchro.net:24

Why Telnet? Telnet would be an easier protocol for remote automated configuration and troubleshooting. This would be for commercial routers implemented by the boxcar full. -- Roedy Green Canadian Mind Products The Java Glossary http://mindprod.com --- * Synchronet * The Whitehouse BBS --- whitehouse.hulds.com --- check it out free usenet! --- Synchronet 3.15a-Win32 NewsLink 1.92 Time Warp of the Future BBS - telnet://time.synchro.net:24
