I would have thought that JEE > Eclipse was equally as bulky and complex. Evidence absent. I just minimized a fairly sizable Java Swing program, running on Linux Ubuntu 8.04 under J6u10, and un-minimized it again after about a half hour. It came up faster than I can blink, perceptually instantaneously, with no discernible disk activity.
