Although PostScript has many features in common with Forth, it is quite different, both in terms of command set and programming model. Modern Forths (e.g. since the release of ANS Forth 94) feature a variety of implementation strategies, ranging from fairly conventional compilers that generate optimized machine code to more traditional threaded code models.
