Apparently, there are people who think this is the right way to do(tm).  
I've similar problems on Android, where SIGSEGV and SIGILL can only be 
caught once (and after one synchronous error, like SIGFPE, no longer). 
This gives your application the chance to print a meaningful trace, but 
not the chance to continue.
