Even Outlook Express will be far better than Google Groups. You can use the Tools / Accounts menu of Outlook Express (or its equivalent of Windows mail in Vista) to set up an account with one of the free news services, such as news.eternal-september.org. That's the one I use myself, and I think many others here also use it. Mike
