From this I assume my programs will not be affected, because I still
use DAO?

BTW, my development machine is a multi-boot system, with
NT 4.0 WS (german)[not used within the last 3 years, but still there]
 Windows 2000 (english)
Windows 2000 (german) with Office 2000 and VB6
Windows 2000 (german) with Office 97 and VB5
 Windows 7 ultimate (german)
I still do most of my developing in W2K and use W7 only if the target
is Vista or Win7 and even then just for the final tests and compilation.

Helmut.
