Kiss tha Game Goodbye is the debut studio album by American rapper Jadakiss. The album was released on August 7, 2001, by Ruff Ryders Entertainment and Interscope Records. The album debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200 and number two on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.


The album debuted at number five on the US Billboard 200 selling 204,000 copies in its first week.[11] It was eventually certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over 500,000 copies in the United States.[12] As of June 2004, the album has sold 877,000 copies.[11]

Since the LOX and especially Jadakiss is getting their flowers and in the spotlight right now, let's revisit his highly anticipated debut album released exactly today, 20 years ago. I swear to god everyone thought he had next. Talks of him taking the mantle to be KONY, as well as the back and forth with Hov/the Roc. if you recall, this was the time Hov was jumping on the same songs as Kiss (best of me, Fiesta, etc)

That it was able to further his mainstream appeal (without those shiny suits) is a testament to the greatness of his vision.

Through solo work, LOX collaborations and feature appearances , the Yonkers native has been flexing his lyrical muscle and versatility, weaving hardened street tales with raspy voice in a way that resonates with both the streets and the mainstream audience.

Kiss tha Game Goodbye is the debut solo studio album by American rapper and The LOX member Jadakiss. It was released on August 7, 2001 by Ruff Ryders Entertainment and Interscope Records. Recording sessions took place at Sony Music Studios, The Hit Factory, Powerhouse Studios, Master Sound Recording and Manhattan Center Studios through April 2000 to January 2001. Production was handled by The Alchemist, DJ Premier, Chucky Thompson, DJ Shok, Just Blaze, Eric McCaine, Fiend, Jadakiss, Mahog, The Neptunes, Mas, P.K., Rated R, Wayne-O / Whateva, Swizz Beatz and Timbaland. It includes guest appearances by DMX, Nas, Sheek Louch & Styles P (of The LOX), Eve, Drag-On, Nate Dogg, Infa-Red, Cross, Fiend, 8Ball, Yung Wun, Mashonda, Carl Thomas, Snoop Dogg, Parle, Ann Nesby and Pharrell Williams.






The album debuted at #5 on the US BillBoard 200 and #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts for selling 204,000 copies in its first week of release. Kiss tha Game Goodbye released the singles "We Gonna Make It", "Put Ya Hands Up" and "Knock Yourself Out". It was eventually certified gold by Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales of over 500,000 copies in the United States.


There's no need for rappers' mothers to put on the Kevlar just yet, but their MC sons are spewing a lot of venom at each other these days. Jadakiss has been beefing with Beanie Sigel. Sigel has made it clear he's not feeling DMX. DMX may have it in for Jay-Z; Nas definitely does. Nas is also going at it with Sigel, Cormega, Freeway and Memphis Bleek.


Jadakiss' upcoming album (see [article id="1444831"]"Jadakiss, DMX Team Up For Goodbye"[/article]) is at the center of another battle. After a bootleg copy of the LP hit the streets in July, hip-hoppers inferred there was beef between DMX and Jay-Z because of X's guest appearance on "Un-Hunh!" (which is called "Here We Go Again" on the bootleg). X, whose fourth album, The Great Depression, comes out just a week after Jigga's The Blueprint hits stores next month, barks, "I only gave you the crown to shoot it off your f---in' head." (Jadakiss, meanwhile, throws a mild jab at Sigel, saying he "ate too many Beanie Macs.")
