ChristianBergstrom, I have also updated my Windows desktop Teams client using this 'forced' method and ongoing updates are indeed working. In my case, I did so to take advantage of a new Teams feature (7x7 grid) a few months ago when selecting 'Check for updates' in-app wasn't updating to a newer version while my colleagues already were using a newer app version (and downloading a new installer directly from -us/microsoft-teams/download-app wasn't making any difference either).

For completeness, as this post doesn't yet mention it, I thought it might be helpful to reference -us/microsoftteams/troubleshoot-installation#troubleshoot-update-issues, which explains some troubleshooting steps related to Teams app updates that you might want to try before 'forcing' an update.

If the above troubleshooting steps don't help resolve the issue, I would suggest it's best to raise a case with Microsoft Support

Steven Collier well we got hit with some bad update in the past. the -s1-s1 folder has to be deleted on all the effected users to get teams to update properly again.

still keeping the forced update in my back pocket incase we ever hit a point we cant fix in time. to many users ignore the error and assume IT knows.

I was forced to wipe Teams from my own machine because it was crashing every few hours. Nothing was displayed when it crashed. The window just closed. Wipe and reinstall has made no difference. It still crashes. So do colleagues.

The OOBE switch forces Windows to run its setup phase the next time Windows boots from this image as if it were a normal Windows setup. Because Windows was generalized, it generates a new unique SID for each such installation.

Example. In this example both BlanccoPreinstall.exe and the ISO image are on the same X: drive (for example on the WinPE ISO image or on a network drive). The image parameter sets the path to the ISO image (actual erasure software). The --force parameter will suppress the warnings and popup messages during the Preinstall launch and the --reboot parameter reboots the machine after the Preinstall launch, after installing Blancco on the HDD. Please find more detailed instructions in the Preinstall user manual page 10.

EXAMPLE 2. In this example we execute Blancco PreInstall which is located in the root of WinPE image and define full path to a Blancco image that locates on the network drive X (network drive needs to be mapped separately via net map command) using /image parameter. We also define force parameter to skip all confirmation popups.

When a major update is rolled out, it is done in a staggered way. That means the updates become available to PCs slowly. Sometimes, the wait becomes longer, especially if someone with a similar PC configuration has already received the update. If you have waited long enough, it's best to do a force update to Windows 11 at least to clear out if there is anything else apart from waiting in the queue.

After Windows 11 force update, if you lost any data, we recommend using EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard. Remember always download the tool only from the official website for safety reasons. There are undoubtedly several data recovery tools available on the internet, but the advanced features and easy-to-access interface make EaseUS hard drive recovery software stand out. Let's know more details regarding its features and functionality.

In this post, we have shared the four easiest and most effective ways to force update Windows 11 to the latest version in detail. Hopefully, it will significantly help you update your system to the new version of Windows 11. Try all the methods to understand which one works better for you.

Yes, you can force update Windows 10 in several ways, like manually downloading the latest version from the Microsoft website and forcing updates. You can also force update Windows 10 on your PC with the help of a command prompt. You must run CMD as administrator for the command prompt method, type wuauclt.exe/updatenow on the CMD window, and press the enter key. It will force Windows 10 to check for updates and starts downloading the latest version automatically.

In this release, we merged a PR from a community contributor that adds support for an environment variable called VCPKG_FORCE_DOWNLOADED_BINARIES. If this variable is set, vcpkg will ignore any existing system binaries and always download its own copies of the tools it depends on. This results in a more self-contained vcpkg that will reliably run across many machines with different OS flavors and system packages. This behavior is off by default however, so please set this variable if this is a scenario that interests you. Note: this environment variable is effectively the opposite of VCPKG_FORCE_SYSTEM_BINARIES, which always forces the use of system binaries.

The system is already configured to force the data / log files onto the correct locations, what i think has happened here is that the wizard was pointed to the listener rather than the actual DB and this has what has forced them onto the system drive instead.

Probably I was wrong with the Firmware file but...will I be forced to create a SPP on USB key instead of the SSP DVD and add that Firmware file to the USB key to let the SSP starts the Firmware update or the F9 way is feasible (providing that the Firmware file is correct)?
