When you issue the command shown above the output is as if I'm working in a DOS environment with even the C:, the'\' slash & the usual Windows format. All this makes me wondering if what I'm really running is a mini virtual machine...

I don't know anything about this android port, but what is the
output of the command "pwd" (Print Working Directory)? Can't you
change directory (cd '..') ? Change to the root directory?
And a quick search on google showed at least one newer version for
android, "droidplot" which seems to be v4.6pl0. Bit old, but not
twice as old as Android itself. ;-)
