Now that version 4.6 has been released, there is a way to do this. In version 4.6 you can use the "stats" command to find the number of blocks first, and then use that value in a subsequent plot command. gnuplot> stats 'filename' gnuplot> print STATS_blocks gnuplot> plot 'filename' every :::STATS_blocks::STATS_blocks
