Although reading the manuals and googling for some time now, I don't know how this thing is called in GnuPlot terminology, and more important, how I could remove it. Well, to answer my own question: I have found out that it's called raxis and that I can remove it by using the command 'unset raxis'. I wasn't able to find out in the first place because the GnuPlot help (on windows) is a little bit confuse. There seem to be many keywords which are definitely working in 4.6.0, but are nowhere in the help (e.g. nowriteback). But that's not a problem right now... Thank you very much, Peter
