No.  Nor should there be one.

The result of such computations _is_ complex by definition.  If you 
don't want that answer, ask gnuplot a different question, i.e. make the 
exponent an actual integer, reduce the result to its real part.  Or 
maybe just take a step back and ask yourself what's so bad about the 
result you got.
