I wrote a little function that can be used for
split-window-preferred-function.  It considers the height and
width of the selected window, in pixels.  As this is a
straight-forward approach that considers the pixel-ratio, I called
it “split-window-rationally”.  Feel free to try it, adopt it or
comment on it.
