Yellowfin CEO, Glen Rabie, had the privilege of recently briefing the
infamous Boulder BI Brain Trust (BBBT) about Yellowfin’s Business
Intelligence (BI) solution, strategic direction and future ambitions
on his latest whirlwind world expedition.

What’s the BBBT?

For those of you who have been hiding under a very large proverbial
rock somewhere in the BI landscape, the BBBT is a BI forum based in
Denver, Colorado. The BBBT is a gathering of leading BI analysts and
experts, who participate in regular briefings with ‘interesting and
innovative BI vendors’.

The BBBT was established to keep industry analysts abreast of new
trends, emerging organizations and technologies in the BI marketplace,
and is produced by Intelligence Solutions and sponsored by The
BeyeNETWORK.

The agenda: Social BI, Mobile BI, ease-of-use

Rabie conversed with the expert assembly regarding Yellowfin’s latest
BI offering – Yellowfin 5.2: Making Business Intelligence even easier
– focusing on ease-of-use, collaboration and mobility.

Feedback

The BBBT panel was instrumental in providing both strategic and
product-oriented recommendations. The mood of the event was best
encapsulated by the surrounding Twitter conversation at #BBBT. Here’s
a taste of the specialist feedback:

Lyndsay Wise [President & founder, WiseAnalytics]: Just finishing up
with #bbbt and @YellowfinBI...have to admit, this has probably been my
favorite #bbbt to date

John Santaferraro [Founder & President, Ferraro Consulting and former
Director of Marketing & Business Intelligence, Hewlett-Packard]:
#BBBT I think the @YellowfinBI differentiators are collaborate,
syndicate, and mobilize. Syndication might be the biggest of the
three.

Rick Sturm [Founder &CEO, Enterprise Management Associates]:
#Yellowfin has a good interface for collaboration. They have the
ability to capture discussion & decisions & then make it searchable.
#BBBT

Wise: #BBBT @YellowfinBI just finished showing geospatial
capabilities, now showing general dashboards. Very nice presentation
layer.

John Myers [Principal Consultant & Senior Analyst, Blue Buffalo
Group]: #BBBT @GlenRabie of @YellowfinBI "there's no ROI on a BI
unless there are decisions made...." EXCELLENT POINT!

Jos van Dongen [Founder of Tholis Consulting]: Found out too late my
mike was muted and on the wrong device; was curious about licensing &
pricing of @YellowfinBI #BBBT

Rabie obliged. Dongen’s response?

Dongen: Playing around with @yellowfinbi; @glenrabie was kind enough
to send me an eval license earlier. First impression: it's so.... EASY
#BBBT

Sturm: Getting to the end of today's #BBBT-consensus is
overwhelmingly positive. This response is one of the most positive
that I have ever seen.

BBBT and Yellowfin podcast

BBBT host and Present and Founder of Intelligence Solutions, Claudia
Imhoff (Ph.D), expressed admiration for Yellowfin’s ability to
facilitate widespread user adoption through product ease-of-use as
well as its collaborative capabilities.

A podcast recording of a subsequent one-on-one interview between Rabie
and Imhoff can be downloaded here:
