I have SQL Server 2008 If I look in the Sql Server Configuration Manager I can see that I have two instances of SQL server. These are : SQL Server(SQLEXPRESS) SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) which is SQL Server Standard Edition. This is the default instance. Now to my question when I have these two instances of SQL Server is that like having two separate installations. I mean it just seems as if I have one installations of SQL Server(SQLEXPRESS) and one installation of SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) which is SQL Server Standard Edition. I mean can I just consider these two installations like two different product in the SQL Servae family. I want to get a better understanding about what SQl Server instances is //Tony
