Use a > script to open the file it points to. That would work if you want the file to be opened in another app, but not if you want it to work within FileMaker itself. For example, I have an old Star Wars database I downloaded years ago which plays the theme tune when you open the database (yes, it's annoying after the first couple of times, but it's only an example).
