I have this recollection that Preston Briggs was cited for saying that FAs were "embarrassingly serial" and hard to parallelize, probably while he was still at Rice. However, a search of the web doesn't show me a citation of who said this, what they said, when they said it, or where. So, I'm hoping that someone on this group has a better memory than I and in particular a pointer to some place that establishes that someone once said this that I can credit for it. -- ****************************************************************************** Chris Clark email: christopher.f.clark@compiler-resources.com Compiler Resources, Inc.
