However, Konrad Zuse, "Über den Allgemeinen Plankalkül als Mittel zur Formulierung schematisch-kombinativer Aufgaben", Archiv der Mathematik volume 1, pages 441-449 (1948) is not in ACM, and Springer didn't make their stuff freely available yet, but there is Sci-Hub, and there is later documentation also. Philipp [The Knuth paper has 7 pages on Plankalkül, including a sample program.
