Suddenly, in the past couple of days, most pages crash when using
Firefox. So I just checked for any updates - which there was - one
just under 7MB. Installed that... and now I can only run Firefox in
safe mode :)

I'll try a full download of the latest version and disable add-ons and
see what happens...

Add-ons are disabled in the latest version and can't be enabled.
Try version 56.

Didn't help.

Tried 56, same problem. However...

The circuit breaker tripped before, naturally meaning the PC rebooted.
Firefox is fine now (using the latest version). That was a bit of an
odd issue, never experienced anything quite like that before.

Been working here for years. Installed it on lots of systems from ME to
win 10 and several versions of Linux with no problem. What is it with
your system that is killing it.

I just noticed in the current version that one now at least gets the
option to view a site with an invalid/expired certificate once
again... so that's at least some progress.

Millions have problems.
Install 56 or earlier and set it to never update.

All good now, after a forced reboot. It's now working as intended - I
still think it's definitely not as good as it used to be in terms of
user options.

I did recently cum across an odd problem on a win 10 laptop with
thunderbird/ firefox. It ended up with a beta version of both on the
system and ended up not working well on a lot of sights and not able to
see remote content. Had to delete some files to reset the security
cert's and do a reinstall to fix it. As to why it had a beta on it after
I had installer the stable version for her I never worked out.
