And even 50C isnt relevant with a solar hot water system that hasn’t been sized properly so it runs out of hot water and sits around for hours at 30C or lower,

You and I were talking about 50 DEGREES (not 50%) and then, Pretzel went off in a different direction. Typical thread drift. I dunno about you, but I'm more interested in how warm the water is so I can have a hot shower, or do a good hot load of hand washing up ofmy pots and pans. I'm less concerned about bugs in my water. Mind you, our water is hot so there shouldn't be any bugs at our preferred temps.

I've got a mate whose company makes tempering systems to mix the hot water with cold once it leaves the tanks to bring it down X Celcius. These go to schools, hospitals, nursing homes etc so people don't get scalded.

I can't find a figure online for NSW and couldn't even in the earlier discussions with Murytz. Both 70 and 50 have been given. But Murtz mentioned 50% so I was informing him that it was not a percentage but degrees. > I've got a mate whose company makes tempering systems to mix the hot > water with cold once it leaves the tanks to bring it down X Celcius. > These go to schools, hospitals, nursing homes etc so people don't get > scalded. And your mate won't get anywhere near my house or I'll boil him in oil! I like my water hot (the same my not apply when I'm in my bath chair in an OPH). Btw, the following popped up on one of my blog reads today and I thought it was interesting given the current discussions: http://gdonna.com/living-like-the-past/what-about-plan-b/
