When you have no grid, it makes no sense whatever to be boosting the hot water at night using electricity very inefficiently obtained from the solar panels and very inefficiently stored in the battery. The only thing that makes any sense at all is to size the solar hot water system so it never needs boosting, fuckwit.

My house its passive solar and I don’t heat it with anything but free solar and only use a single electric throw in the evening and that uses fuck all electricity. Even if I do get a bigger diesel generator that will start the evap cooler, I wont be buying one new and will be getting it from a garage sale or the facebook buy sell swap groups for peanuts, nothing even remotely like his $3K Even that isnt likely. If we do see blackouts in the peak of the day when cooler would be convenient, I'll likely just start the cooler when the mains is still available and switch it auto to the current generator which will certainly run it fine once its been started. IMO its not that likely that we will see blackouts during the day in NSW anyway and even if we do and it’s a stinking hot day when it happens, I can just sit in the car with the aircon going and handle it fine that way.

Poor Roddles claims that your setup - with hot water boosting during the night - will have more discharge/recharge cycles than without hot water boosting, but of course it won't.

Thanks for that completely superfluous proof of what a pig ignorant terminal fuckwit you have always been. I never said anything about CYCLES, fuckwit. Clearly the batterys have to be charged more when he is actually stupid enough to have not sized the solar hot water system properly so that it has to be boosted with electricity stored in the fucking batterys for the overnight boosting.
