DBAN is for secure erasion, so that not even a forensic engineer can recover any data from the drive. You don't need that. It's an overkill.

The point is that you are obviously doing something wrong. People here have installed Windows hundreds of times over their lives. It will just install on a partition that you select. You are obviously not doing something right. DBAN will not solve your problem. Your problem is not being able to do the Windows installation procedure properly. Your attitude also sucks. People are here to help you and you abuse them.

Do you have some protection turned on in the BIOS that is preventing the format from working perhaps? What error messages are you getting when you try to format the drive using the various methods posted in this thread?

Are you trying to format the drive that you have booted from? That won't work - you need to boot from something else, like a bootable CD, DVD, or USB stick. Peter
