#48444 — Onedrive

Say your machine is on a network, then onedrive waits until the machine is
not busy but then Microsoft OneDrive seems to have no way to limit the
bandwidth (theInternet) usage. Thus it will bring your Internet to a
grinding halt and stop almost all Internet traffic to the network.

You will notice this most when trying to upload large files – like a
backup.

I spent a couple of hours this weekend playing with it and the traffic
meter
on my router never showed anything other than full usage.

I tried this, but it did not work.

Any ideas for onedrive besides try something else although I am thinking of
mega.

Just use whatever you like and what works.

Unless you pay for a online backup product you just have to put up with any
problems because no one will care.

The general cloud products like OneDrive etc, are probably not suitable for
regular backup purposes.

What do you have that's so important that you need to backup online? Why
isn't a portable hard drive enough?

It should be able if I can get over this problem.

You want something off premises just in case. People will say something say
in fire, I just had time to grab the photo album and run.

I don’t get anything like that result.

Nope, I don’t move backups around like that.

Why not just buy some online storage, and then you will have total control.

Control is not what I am looking for here.
