Yeah, that's often all you have to do. 

With the most stupid you do sometimes have to use
the small claims system which makes it clear to them
what the australian consumer law actually says.

Impossible to say when we don't know what the fault with
the original one was. It may have been an uncommon failure
with that mainboard, it may be a design fault with that one.

Not in the sense that the stated warranty starts again.

With the statutory warranty that you used, that still applys.
The statutory warranty does not give you the right to have
it fixed forever whenever it fails unless it is a design fault 
that they havent done anything about and just keep 
replacing the mainboard when it manifests. In that case 
you are entitled to a full refund of what you paid too. 

That is an entirely separate matter to the stated warranty,
what the manufacturer says you have warranty wise on 
the paperwork that came with it when you bought it etc.
