Thanks, Lars.

Yes, I think the version that Jayjwa pointed to in the first note about
this is actually Crowther's original version. One long source file,
adv.f4, and a smaller file, iofil.for. I think adv.f4 is Crowther's
original code, which ran on a KA-10 DEC-10; iofil.for was written to
adapt it to the DEC-20's OPEN statement. The coding style in ADV.F4 is
pretty crude -- the sort of thing you might put together quickly for
your two daughters. ;-)

The FUN:ADVENT.EXE file *seems* to be the Woods version. It starts by
saying "This is "Version II" of Adventure.". I've seen the source code
somewhere (not on Panda), and it had a much more professional coding
style.

The FUN:CAVE.EXE file is a multi-player version on DEC20 Panda. The
MACRO code for it is in <utilities>, CAVE.MAC; written by David I Bell.
Looks like a very nice piece of DEC20 MACRO code.

I think the Crowther code is historically significant and worth
preserving somewhere. It formed the basis for much of later computer
gaming, conceptually if not in actual coding.
