This is the version I ended up with:
https://github.com/kristopherjohnson/advent
That will build/run on T10 7.04.

Looks like there's a version already there:
@dir fun:
TOPS20:<GAMES>
ADVENT.EXE.2 <-- probably the one we're talking about
BKG.EXE.1
BYE.IDX.1
.LNS.1
CAVE.EXE.1 <-- the one I played last (diff game?)
...
That last one, cave.exe, is a bit different. It can output a map of
where you've been. We were trying to get it to print on the XGP on ITS
awhile back.

Same on TOPS-10.

Changing tapes is possible without restart. I posted an example under
the "Discussions" tab on your github guide.

Ah, BBN. It's funny that I never heard of them until I got into the DEC
systems. You see, I'm going the other way: I start on micros with the
Microsoft systems and moved backwards to VAX and then the PDP-10. I've
never seen the real systems outside of a green-screen (VT220?) in the CS
lab. At the time, my high school had a program with the local community
college to give credits toward college. Since I had already taken on to
learn much of the 80286 under DOS, I signed up for a course in assembly
thinking I had a head start. It ended up being on the VAX - a CPU
architecture I never heard of on an operating system I didn't know
existed.
If you are on IRC you should come to Libera, at #pdp-10
