It was the cheap $7 mouse I'm using (Rapoo brand).  Getting a $30 one 
next week.  It's making the window flash and lose selection/control from 
some sort of laser signal and is also incompatible with my computer brand.

I decided to come back since the issue was unrelated.  It is probably 
one of Checkmate's friends doing that tampering because I encounter 
higher than normal resistance and denial of service when posting to 
alt.checkmate, and it wasn't wise for me to declare what I'm using for 
all to see.  However, I don't normally use the browser in my news 
browser in most cases.  It's sub-par and hackneyed.

I've had a day or two to think about things and that should help some. 
I could do something to reduce my obnoxiousness.
