Linux Mint 17.3 Cinnamon 64 bit.
Only just recently been working with Linux.   Been on it for years but 
started adding things.   I put BleachBit in and have used it now and 
then to docleanups.   I do limit the things I clean.  Mostly cache files 
from any browser, no icon caches, no APT, no Deep Scan.    The only 
system items I clean are system cache, Clipboard, localizations, and 
temp files.

Seems like 9 times outta 10, within hours or a day, I am using Nemo to 
browse a folder or two and I get amessage that the Icon Cache needs 
repair and I have to okay and give the root password.   After that, it's 
fine, and maybe one more time it happens and maybe in another 
folder.     The latterfacts I can't be 100% sure of.

Is this something that is a side effect of this utility?   Should I stay 
away from it?   I saw someone somewhere say they didn't like the 
program.   Reasons evade me now but that's not important.

I know where the browser caches are, I could simply write a 
cleanupscript in bash and run it now and then.   But there are other 
aspects of the cleanup that I'm not sure of.    Adobe reader cache etc.
