Sadly, still no sound! On the Dell website, though, this time, I was able to carry out a hardware scan. Here's a screenshot of the failures indicated:- https://i.ibb.co/XjYDWtv/IMG-3158.jpg Any comment beyond time to recycle it?!! -- David
