Most of my data is on a hard drive, not on /home.
The main drive is an ssd.
The root partition and /home are on the ssd

I seem to have run too low on space on the root partion to support installation of speechnote.
The partitions run in this sequence
/EFI
/
/home (830 Gb most unused)
/spare (reserved for mounting remote drives)
/unallocated (about 21Gb)

I would like to shuffle up the unallocated space to /
or relinquish some of /home's but gparted is not cooperating.

Is there a way out of this that I am missing?

TIA Alan
