I just got done trying to upgrade 40 to 41,
tried the plasma but it died on me so I moved to the Cinnamon Spin and that 
seems to be fitting my needs...its sort of Win like with the start menu in 
the same place and it played a sound on startup. I used straight Cinnamon 
for a while on a 32 bit laptop years ago and it was quite stable.
