Are you one who demands that others permanently seal the door when you leave a room? I still use DOS on a Win-64 machine: http://www.dosbox.com/ My new favorite: http://www.vdos.info/ It does everything I need most of the time. Unhappily, it doesn't distinguish Ctrl-Break from Ctrl-C. Anything that really needs Ctrl-Break to stop, won't stop; which means making Windows force the window closed and losing any unsaved changes to whatever was being done. But it can use the Windows clipboard to copy/paste text to/from Windows programs from/to the DOS screen. Very cool. If DOSBox can do that, I am not aware of it. So maybe we're not leaving the light on here for you, but you've found at least two people who care.
