Years ago making a copy on the company Xerox machine was serious business. There was only one machine for a building, and you needed an electo-meter key to use it. You had to sign a register. Secretaries still routinely used carbon paper, and internal documents were still printed by mimeo, external by offset. Schools used spirit or mimeo depending on the size of the run. Admittedly, duplicating by Xerox yields much higher quality and is far simpler and easier. I learned the hard way what happens when pressing the inker button too much on a mimeo. Sadly, AB Dick Co, which made many offset, mimeo, and addressograph machines, apparently is out of business.
