Yeah - ActiveX controls were a convenient plug-'n-play method to extend
functionality (aside from the usual DLL-hell issues,) but it could get
to be a real problem if the vendor went bust and had some licensing
scheme in place for them - without the source, you either scrambled for
a not-often-drop-in replacement, or went scouring the sketchier parts
of the Internet for a crack... :/
