Although I prefer plain text, and followed Adam's suggestion to use 
wording in the charter which makes it clear that text+html is unwanted, 
that wording can do nothing to stop people.  If they put the same 
message in plain text and html, we can choose to read the plain version 
so there's not a huge amount of harm done.

It's people who put a message in html plus an "anti-message" in plain 
text who are doing harm.  A couple of months back, I used to read GG and 
he often sent useful replies, lately he's not worth the effort (for me) 
we could hope he changes his ways, but I'm not holding my breath ...
