Yours is as good a guess as to why Newegg cancelled the order, 
especially since they did not offer any reason for the cancellation.

I do see a couple of used units on Ebay as well as one new one, Item 
182432156602, being offered for $39 plus shipping.  There are used 
models available as well.  Just be sure to check them out as I see there 
are different models of the 6000 being offered interchangeably from 
laptop sized to the full sized unit.

Also on the one new item I see the vendor is temporarily out of the 
country and not expected to be responding to emails until some time in 
march.  Still, as long as you don't actually make a payment until they 
respond, then by say PayPal you should be covered for any possible loss.
