After some sad business I'm finally ready to start putting it together. 
With all the components except the new monitor in place I'm starting out 
with these steps. Board is an Asus x870e ProArt Creator, 64gb ddr5 ram.

USB dvd is connected to a USB port. It's a bootable Tumbleweed 
installer. If there is nothing else bootable plugged-in then I would 
expect the board to boot from this with BIOS in factory defaults.

I have a pre-partitioned disk connected to a SATA port, ready for an 
install. The first 1gb is EFI type, the second one also 1gb is a 
BIOS-Boot type in case one would be needed. Neither is formatted.

Monitor is conncted via HDMI

PSU is installed and switched ON

2-wire PWR switch is connected to the first 2 (PWR) pins of what Asus 
calls a Front-Panel System header. Thing is I don't have any 'system 
header' plug, only this 2-wire switch. There is a loner pin just 
outboard of this pin-pair, the manual says NOTHING About it. I press the 
switch and nothing happens.
