I use Firefox on my Windows 7 computer, but printing partial webpages is clunky. I've tried several add-ons, but they don't work well either. For example: * Even with the Print/Print Preview add-on, you can't highlight a section of a webpage and use Print Preview to see how it will appear. It's simply not an option. * Highlighting a section and using CTRL-P and "Print Selection" results, at best, in the top of the top line of the selection being cut off. * For many pages, printing from a certain point to the end results in one or more pages of white space before the printing starts. Only occasionally has a partial webpage printed at the top of the first page. Printing the same webpages in Internet Explorer works fine, but I don't want to use IE. I'd be grateful if those who use Pale Moon or another browser could speak to the printing capabilities. -- Thank you, Jo-Anne

I don't use Pale Moon, but if I were trying to do that, I think I would print to .pdf and then use a .pdf editor to get rid of the stuff I didn't want. However, sometimes print to .pdf doesn't get the desired result/rendering. -- Mike Easter

Often, what I end up doing in Firefox is a screen print, which is clunky. -- Jo-Anne

There is an add-on for Firefox called Abduction. It does a capture of the entire page or a specified region. There is a demo video here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3fWNJTUNLk Disclaimer: I have not used this add-on. -- <Wildman> GNU/Linux user #557453 The cow died so I don't need your bull!

I'd prefer to print the partial webpages directly, but this could at least help me get the material I want from the pages. -- Jo-Anne

I may be caught between workable versions of Abduction. It looks like the original version doesn't work past FF37, and Abduction-Fixed doesn't work with FF39, which is what I'm using. -- Jo-Anne

Basically, "Selection" is the same as "All" except only the highlighted text is displayed. The number of pages printed and location upon those pages is the same with both print options.

I use the "Print Edit" plugin with PaleMoon: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/firefox/addon/print-edit Works well for my needs. Easiest way for Printing only a portion of a page is to select that area in Print Edit and hit <Delete Except>. Restricted or unrestricted depends on the desired outcome. Selecting/unselecting several regions is done by just clicking. (No Ctrl, Shift,... needed.) The plugin also works with other Firefox-based browsers, of course. I tried Print Edit a while back and found it took forever to delete what I didn't want. I might not have realized there was a Delete Except command. I'll give it a try. I still have the add-on, although I disabled it. -- Jo-Anne
