Being stopped and searched, and even being required to provide 
passwords, does not require a warrant or even probable cause. It's 
always been that way, even before 9-11. The confiscation of his stuff 
after he complied is troublesome, but still legal as well.

What I find most disturbing is the refusal of TSA to provide any kind of 
reasonable explanation for anything they do. If they did so, it would go 
a long way toward lessoning the animosity their actions generate.
