I’m here for the first time in about 25/26 years. I feel you.

I’m down to talk Babylon 5 anytime though…

Yes, but if you're talking Babylon 5 you have to mark it as [OT] "on
topic" :)

I've been looking in occasionally but I'm wondering how much longer...
just got an email from news.individual.net to say they are discontinuing
their usenet servers in 2 years time. That's only about a dozen a.b5.uk
posts away at this rate.

Funny. That's about the rate at which I meet people in the real world who
have even a vague recollection of B5.. And yes, I do meet a fair number of
people in the real world :D

Luckily I work with a few of folks that are nearly as geeky about it as I am,
some have even read some of the books. And some of the youngsters here have
watched the whole show - twice - in recent time, and keeps quoting from it.

Heck, even my gf has been known to quote G'Kar and Ivanova. My bonus kid
quotes Kosh several times a year, un-prompted.

I must have done well.

I started putting DVDs on a hard drive during the year. Got all 5
seasons onto a USB stick so I could plug them into the telly. But they
looked odd. Maybe I used too much compression.

Point of order, Mr. Chairman - this should be marked OT.

Good point, well made!

Looks like a tag that might actually need to be used here again... <vbg>

Or maybe your TV is just too big - I was shocked to see how bad the DVD version
looked when playing it on my 65". The re-mastered version that showed up a few
years ago is not only much, much better - it is also in the original 4:3 so you
don't get the absolutely messed-up cropping they had to do to any scene with CGI in
them..
