I don't simply fight against "alternative possibilities", I oppose foolish
"alternative possibilities" that make no sense, that violate the laws
of physics (without at least offering an explanation why the violated
laws should be violated in the first place) or are counter to known
observation, as being harmful to science.  I can visit any insane asylum
and ask all the "physicists" among the inmates for "alternative
possibilities" and get hundreds of them, all contradicting each other
and all almost certainly wrong.

Also, I recognize idee fixe's and OCD when I see it.
