There were thousands of people (and cameras) staring at the towers when 
the second plane hit.  They saw it.

Also, the sound of the incoming jets (low and at full power) would have
caused lots of people to look.  Like the cameraman filming the FDNY crew
who heard Flight 11 pass, and pointed his camera to where it was headed,
and caught the impact with the North Tower.

Many videos show pieces of the North Tower hitting WTC 7.

A combination of fires raging for hours, structural damage (Col 20 missing)
and unusual construction.
