While there is a fair amount of truth to that NOW, this has not been the case over history. The South, for example, used to be strongly Democrat. When the Republicans started to back their racist views more, and the Democrats less, they switched to being Republicans. -- Personal attacks from those who troll show their own insecurity. They cannot use reason to show the message to be wrong so they try to feel somehow superior by attacking the messenger. They cling to their attacks and ignore the message time and time again.
