As Britain and Germany were at war and Germany was blockading Britain and the ship, like most ships of the day, was both a passenger ship and a cargo ship, and the ship was British and had been fitted with 6 inch gun mounts since 1913, what would you think a German submarine would do if they spotted the ship? -- Jim Pennino
