One possibility is the introduction of identity cards for US-citizens, combined with obliged registration of residency. This is something very common in almost all countries of the world. And the USA is actually among the few exceptions. So, new rules about citizenship, combined with something like an ID-card would solve the problem, while a large wall would not. (Actually a stable fence - plus a few wards - would be sufficient for the same purpose.) Usually US presidents make strange decisions only at the end of their term, but Trump does that in advance. So we could expect even weirder proposals, once he's in office. TH
