Let me explain why a comet will never wipe out cilivatization... Probability is the possibility that an event will occur, as expressed by the ratio of the number of actual occurrences to the total number of possible occurrences. Since a comet has never wiped out civilization on earth, there is no actual occurrence by ratio, no two amounts, or even one amount. It is "an improbable event". A comet will never wipe out civilatization because it is impossible. Therefore, any time travelers in the future would be here now buying lottery tickets and betting at the racetrack. Time Travel Is Not Possible and it's Impossible. That is not how the world and the universe works. Nature is not going to go to all this trouble and then wipe out civilazation with a comet. It's not in the works..
