I'm evaluating user agents on backed-up filesystems... I made mbox copies of all my VMS mail, as my postmaster doesn't want to keep paying all the costs of keeping it up now that just a few things are still running on it. VMS also isn't very zippy with thousands of files in one's mail directory. We're moving to Oracle's Convergence messaging system, and it is _much_ faster. > I think ThunderBird is terrible. After spending a lot more time on this, I can't exactly call Thunderbird terrible, but can it be damn annoying? Yes. I've come to like Apple's user agent more, and will be using it. I was also looking at mutt (a character cell terminal user agent), so I could use a decent text editor to write messages, but it also has some shortcomings - no way to search separately on 'to,' 'from,' or 'subject,' for example - so I'll just paste stuff into the editor when need be. > I'd rather use mailx via a vt-100 terminal than use ThunderBird. I'd rather have stayed where I was (VT-510, or an emulator). I don't care about html in mail, but it seems I'm one of all too few who feel that way these days...
